A man who may have beaten his seven-year-old son to death and fed his remains to pigs made his first court appearance on Monday. Michael A. Jones, 44, has been charged with child abuse, as well as aggravated battery and aggravated assault with a firearm against his wife Heather Jones. Police responded to a domestic violence call to Jones' home in rural Kansas City, Kansas on Wednesday after he shot his 29-year-old wife. Officers were notified that Jones' son, AJ, was missing and then found unidentified human remains in a barn on the property, according to Wyandotte County District Attorney Jerome A. Gorman.
